Dear Members and Friends:

In November of 2001 I had the privilege of giving several lectures to the "Preacher Boys" at Bob Jones University on the subject of missions.  In preparation of my lecture notes on the Annual Missions Conference, I wrote the following:

"If we truly believe that “Missions is the Mission of the Church” then the annual missions conference must be the main event of the year.  It is crucial for the development of an effective local church program to carry the gospel to the regions beyond.  If then, worldwide evangelism is the main event, it follows that world missions will need to be properly promoted.  Prayer is essential, preaching on world evangelization is necessary, having an occasional missionary to speak is good; but, without an annual missionary conference all of the above will be to little avail."

This is the very reason Good News Baptist Church has an annual missionary conference. This is also the reason our church has a long history of being a church with a big heart for missions.

We live in a global society in this 21st century. With cyber-space communications it has become, in some respects, easier to communicate the gospel to the world and stay in instant contact with our missionaries in the fields of the world.  It is a God-sent blessing to have ready access to our missionaries who are called to help this local church carry out the “Great Commission.”  For that reason, we have developed our missions website with the theme – WorldWideWitness.Pray-Give-Go.COMmission.
